Issued without authority. The instructions are not strictly necessary — most users figure it out by ear. They are provided as a courtesy and may help with returns.

§0 — INTAKE

You did not need to be here. You came anyway. That counts. Bring with you: a pair of ears and one (1) unresolved feeling you’ve been too tired to name. The unit will use it.

§1 — POWER ON

Open the device of your choice. Find the song. Press play. We do not require you to like it on the first listen. We do not require you to like it on the last. We require you to listen.

§2 — INTENDED USE

Listen alone. Listen with one (1) trusted other. Listen on a walk that takes too long. Do not listen to be productive. Do not listen to be cool — the unit detects intent and goes inert.

§3 — KNOWN BEHAVIORS

A guitar line will arrive late and apologize for nothing. A drum will hit on the wrong beat and that beat will become the right one. A voice will break and stay broken. This is the seal, not the flaw.

§4 — DO NOT

Do not skim. Do not skip the second track. Do not put it on for houseguests. Do not — under any circumstances — call it vibey. The word is gauze. Use what’s underneath.

§5 — WARRANTY

Warranted against indifference. If you feel nothing, return to the source. Tampering voids only your evening. Refunds are issued in the form of a different song you did not ask for.

When the record ends, it ends. Sit with it. Don’t reach for the next thing. Silence is part of the build — we made it on purpose. Let it do the work it was hired for.
